I have a number of shots of barnies in flight, but until Monday, nothing decent of one perched, aside from a few "arty" shots. A trip to Lincs has finally put that right, with a few of this fab owl perched between hunting missions.

The photo was taken after dark using flash (with Better Beamer) as the sole illumination. The bird was about 35 m distant, near the limit of my flash w BB. In profile, it is hard to see the bill of this bird.

A quiet, wet day here yesterday, so we decided to just go next door for a lunchtime pint. A lovely surprise when they presented us with 168 win from the pub lottery...result!!! Great start to 2012.
