Taiga Bean Goose (Anser fabalis)
Candaba Wetlands, Pampanga, 10 Apr 2010
This migratory bird was first recorded here in the Philippines on April 3, 2010 by Alex Loinaz of the WBCP. http://services.inquirer.net/print/print.php?article_id=20100403-262184
EOS 40D, EF 400/5.6 L, ISO 200, f/8...
Our name for this bird is Sea Goose.
Mietoinen Bay is a great birding place. Big flocks of geese coming there, Grey Herons, Waders.. Lots of birds. But you are not allowed to go anywhere near water and birds. So its not a photographing place. Unless you do huge crops like I did here.. ;)
This guy seems to be a regular visitor here, (assuming it is a "guy" and it is the same bird) visiting each winter for the past three years.
(Hishikui).
Uploading this Bean Goose image as a matter of interest as i don't see any reference to an image from Britain in BF they are seemingly all from Europe. Why?
Taken Dec 06.
ps. hope the indentification is correct.

This flock of shy and wary geese kept far away the whole afternoon, getting a bit closer only just before sunset
