Green Bee-eater between preening.

At that time, I was teaching at a school on a mountaintop, so went out at noon to see birds. The green bee-eater, a species I'd never seen before, landed in front of me and I was able to get a photo before it flew off. I never got a good photo of that species again.

Special treat to catch these with the camera. Can be found around the residential lagoons sitting on sun umbrellas, wind breaks, and trees close to the water.

Common winter visitor to Singapore

Didn't have much luck with photographing Bee-eaters this spring. This shot is a very heavy crop though I like the light, late afternoon , just before dusk at the Meladia Valley. Time for a brew.

A bird I've seen on many occasions, but never as close as this. A pair of birds flying back and forward across a stream sat nicely for a few pics.
