Bronzed Tiger Beetle (Cicindela repanda: Carabidae) 10-13 mm long.

Blister Beetles secrete highly irritant cantharadin which causes painful blisters. Interesting to know that yesteryear's' aphrodisiac Spanish fly was prepared from these beetles.

This was around our room daily.had a very hard shell

I was unable to ID this beetle.

Texas Ironclad Beetle (Zopherus nodulosus haldemani: Zopheridae) 1.6-3.0 cm (0.6-1.2 in) long.

Pigweed Flea Beetle (Disonycha glabrata: Chrysomelidae) Ca. 6 mm (0.24 in) long.

Rhinoceros Beetle (Enema pan: Scarabaeidae) Male. Ca. 4.5 cm (1.8 in) long. I thank my wife Gretchen for taking this picture of the beetle on my hand. She would not let me put it on hers for me to take the picture (lol).

This mature Thick-legged Flower Beetle, as it ages, will become more coppery overall, like the specimen I previously submitted, titled: "a chance encounter". Again, just look at those seemingly transparent "thighs"..the lower half of it's left "thigh" fools you...

Sand Chafer Beetle (Strigoderma arbicola: Scarabidae) 1.0-1.1 cm (0.39-0.43 in) long. On Plains Beeblossom (Gaura brachycarpa: Onagraceae).

Heck I have always call them Ladybugs.

I loved the iridescent colors on this beetle.
