Blister Beetles secrete highly irritant cantharadin which causes painful blisters. Interesting to know that yesteryear's' aphrodisiac Spanish fly was prepared from these beetles.

This mature Thick-legged Flower Beetle, as it ages, will become more coppery overall, like the specimen I previously submitted, titled: "a chance encounter".
