This bird flew into Martin mere on Wednesday after a 2,500 mile flight and was still around yesterday among the many Whooper that have arrived as well. Plenty of migrants arriving everyday at the moment so well worth a visit.
I recently got a new scope and have found carrying around scope, camera and everything else a bit hard going so now trying digiscoping. These two pictures are the first reasonable results....got a lot to learn!! LOL Criticism greatly received.
The end of a good day at Slimbridge. A lovely sky but very low light levels made life very tricky. Not helped by me completely messing up the exposure. Thank you Photoshop!
My first day at Martinmere was wet, windy and overcast, but then the sun came out and I could crank down to ISO 400. Amazing how the drops of water "bead-up" without even wetting the plumage of this Bewick Swan.

Late afternoon and the Bewick swans started to fly back in from the outlying fields. Im not sure which was more numerous the swans or the number of people stood their lens in hand ;) Not my best shot of the day but I love the adult juvenile composition.
