Finally was able to get out this morning and get some shots at one of my favorite wetland areas. The sunrise was beautiful with so much bird activity! This was one of my favorite shot of today with all the birds in the air and the solitary Anhinga in the tree top!
After getting a few still shots of this American Bald Eagle and waiting over an hour for it to leave its perch, I gave up and moved on to another area of interest. After I got about a quarter mile away I turned to see if it was still there and just then it took off and flew directly toward me...

I took this a few weeks ago when I was at Land's End. While I was hoping to see Peregrines, this female Kestrel was still a lovely sight, flying relatively close to me as it was hunting (unsuccessfully I might add) for food.
I had a fantastic day yesterday with Johanna Holldack. We focused on photography of cetaceans and birds in flight. I prefer to take pictures of birds in flight with the mountains in the background far better, but I quite liked the expression and posture of this Griffon flying directly toward us.
