I seem to take all my best photos at Blashford Lakes. It's a really nice nature reserve, five permanent hides and some varied habitats. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Not an easy bird to photograph as it's normally difficult to get close enough to them, but one turned up in front of the hide long enough for me to capture it.
Not the most colourful bird in the world but good to get a photograph of one all the same.
These birds were nesting in front of the hide so no laws were broken in photographing these important rare birds. They seem to have found better nest sites away from the hide these days, although Lapwings still nest quite close.
This Kingfisher caught the meal of a lifetime. It took quite a few minutes for it to actually swallow the fish, then it flew into some cover to digest the fishy beast.
