I promised you all that I would post this today! I was photographing this first year Black Crowned Night Heron, catching small minnows and bugs. All of the sudden it came up with what looks like a rather large dill pickle. This is a brackish water, and it is very near a public walkway...
Caught this first year, Black-crowned Night Heron catching little fish and shrimp in the shallows of the estuary. I will post a fun picture of one of it's captures tomorrow!!

You just know it has to be pretty darn hot for the local Herons to just plop down in the water and sit there!!
