    Juvenile Wheatear (Queyras, France, August 5th 2020)

    A year and a half ago I saw this juvenile Wheatear in the French nature reserve Queyras. Altitude ± 1700m/5500ft in lush alpine terrain. I can't determine if it was a Northern Wheatear of a Black-eared Wheatear (with Northern Wheatear much more likely, I think, a bit too far inland and high-up...

    Finsch`s Wheatear or Black-eared Wheatear - Kesan/Edirne/Turkey

    I've observed this bird in Keşan/Edirne/Turkey. Finch's Wheatear hasn't been recorded in this area before, so guys from eBird record checking team in Turkey don't accept it as Finch's Wheatear. To me it is. Please share your opinions. 10x in advance.

    On our way down to Sagres (Portugal), there was a little set of farm buildings with Red-Billed Chough. There was also a couple of Black-Eared Wheatears.

    This lovely male is one of the BE Wheatears here in Western Europe that lacks the black throat patch. The males with the throat patch are much commoner birds in this area.
