Panic sets in when the chick gets separated from its parents for a few seconds.
Unfortunately these Gulls were not very near - so picture quality for all three shots is not up to usual standards.
I can't quite get used to the fact that these are no longer Larus. Scentific names for Gulls used to be relatively easy.
I've put this adult in to compare with the little ones to follow.
This Black headed Gull flew round me in circles, as I stood on the boardwalk over the pond at Minsmere RSPB as I was leaving. This was the best of my effort before I got too dizzy! It's a bit noisy in the shadow because I was accidently using too high an iso.
