Just back from two weeks in Cyprus. While I sort out my pictures of Cyprus birds I still have some left from earlier.
Here are some Black-headed Guls from three different sites (in the UK).
I think this is one of those images that doesn't suit the web. Viewed at a large size I really like it and the catchlight in the eye really stands out. Compressed for the web, sadly, it seems to me rather more run of the mill.

Having problems with the cameras internal auto focus system just thought i would give manual a try
and go back to the good old days when auto focus was just a dream. Turned out not to bad.

I love how you can adjust the exposure compensation so easily with the 30d whilst tracking a bird mid flight. It makes changing exposures between light and dark backgrounds so much easier. There are plenty of people throwing bread for the swans in the park so plenty of chances to photograph the...
Yesterday I was very disappointed in the performance of the 30d at only iso 400. I was sure that the camera should have been able to produce images of a much higher quality and to me seems no difference to the results from the 350d.
