another black-headed gull image but these birds are so photogenic and plentiful i could not resist.

watched this guy yesterday with a stick this was it retreiving it.know this is a method they are taught to agitate the water for food but gulls seem to have such fun doing it and i have fun watching their antics.

Couldn't stay long at the reservoirs, but managed my first reasonable flight shot with the new camera. Light not that good; needed ISO1000 to get a fast shutter speed. Pushing my luck a bit with only a cheap 55-200mm lens, but it'll do for now. Camera Maker: SONY Camera Model: SLT-A58 Lens...

this is where i feed my swans and ducks and all the water birds.always throw some food on the ground for the land dwellers.these gulls land right next to me watching for the scraps or maybe i should say first servings.

Well Peeps, As its quite nice here, I think I'm gonna catch the bus out to Pett Level this morning. I need a rest from the pubs etc...We've had Hazel's brother here from Denmark for a few days, and we've been giving it some right wellie. So a mornings birding, will hopefully...

When we got back to the cars at the end of my sister's visit, this gull walked over and was so close it was difficult to get the shot without getting half the car in LOL. Another species I can never get the scientific name to stick in my brain - let alone remember how to spell it!
