A common, but at least in my opinion, wonderful hummingbird, kissing one of it's favorite flowers.

16 cm Behavior: It is a species tapeworm of the virgin and secondary bush. It visits the flowers of bromlias frequent, cactus e lequinosas. The nuptial dance is rich of movements and sounds. When showing the plumage, the male encircles the female in full flight, arriving well close and opening...

This hummingbird doesn't show dimorfism, that is, adult males and females are equal. But the immatures have some cinamon feathers on the face. It likes these red Ixora flowers.

Today I went to Serrinha do Alambari, hoping to see some hummers on the flowers I recently planted. I waited, and waited, and waited, from 2.pm to 5:30, but the birds only wanted to go to the feedres. Suddenly they changed their minds and began kissing the Grevileas and Ixoras, till the sun went...

It has not been common for me to see this bird kissing flowers, and when I got this one I thought I could share with you.

This Black jacobin, between two dances, stayd quiet for a moment.... Lucky was I ..

The Black jacobin Hummingbird could be called the Dancing Hummer. It is beautiful to see it, as it keeps doing it alone or with another black one.
