    Black-mandibled Toucan

    This species is also known as Yellow-throated Toucan. On my last full day at Wild Sumaco the sky was grey and there was a fair amount of rain, so not exactly optimal for photos. This bird was quite some distance away giving this heavily cropped photo.

    Black-mandibled Toucan C-RICA SER 2

    Formerly called Chestnut-mandibled Toucan in Costa Rica, this bird is now classified as the race swainsonii of the Black-mandibled Toucan.
