I haven't seen these little birds on my local patch this year yet, so I may have to have a look for them soon.

that's why the background is red, a wall was behind! :eek!: But the dandy didn't stay there waiting for me to change my angle. I still like it though and it's a very long time since I upload one of these, so here it is for all of you! o:)

More of record shot that anything special, as she refused to move from her lofty perch on a warehouse roof. Glad I went to see it though, as they're such lovely birds.

    Black Redstart (Female)

I don't know if there were less females or if they were better at hiding. This one from the hilly area by Aphrodite's Bath. [She wasn't there!]

These birds were very common. They seem to like the open wasteland between the hotel strip and the sea/ cliff area - but were also seen in the hotel gardens. Very difficult to photograph in sunlight.

After several failed attempts to get a decent photo, the sun finally shone, and the bird came within range. Unfortunately, the building site he was inhabiting is surrounded by 7 foot high solid steel walls, and this shot had to be taken through a 2 foot square viewing panel covered with 1&quot...

    Portrait of a Lady

Male Black Redstarts tend to get all the press.. "stunning/cracking" birds they certainly are but in their own way, the females are equally attractive. And in the case of this lady here, certainly as sociable! Maybe she was just appreciative of my efforts to meet her at her level :)

    Black Redstart

I have to post my pics and run today. Hazel's daughter has all her girlfriends coming over here to have their Christmas party, and they are taking over my office space. I dont mind, as they are all pretty young ladies in their twenties, and they have asked me to take some pics of them too. So...
