Close to Amsterdam, early spring, a farmer floods part of his land for the migratory birds. I wanted some pictures of this bird in full colour. I couldn't get close enough, but caught a few flying over.

Very rare for us here in the U.S. Very cooperative bird hanging out at Chincoteague NWR for a while.

A low angle shot taken from the muddy shoreline. There are perhaps things a fatman shouldn't do! I needed help up afterwards. ;) Quite a number of Blackwits head south to Africa for the northern winter though I suspect that this is a second calendar year bird which has summered in Kenya.
