A black tailed Godwit in flight. These birds usually welcome proximity and are not perplexed. But I suppose I got a bit too close for comfort over here and the godwit flew away !!
not quite sure why I like this (possibly as it was the only worthwhile photo that I took while the rain belted down) - anyway the juvenile Avocet makes for a little good contrast to the main subject
I had a rather grey, cloudy day at Slimbridge WWT last week but still loved seeing the 100+ Black tailed Godwits on the South Lake. I guess these guys winter here.
