As we neared Tulcea, our local guide had the bus stop by a wetlands. He said this would be a foretaste of the delta. There was a rather dangerous road between us and the wetland and then a long stretch of deep mud, so no getting close to the bird life ... which also means no way we would disturb...

I'm using an old beat up house PC this morning, as me lappy has gone away to the PC doctor. Our other lappy has died on us, so I'm wonderin if I should invest in a Mac Book Pro or not? It would be interesting to hear your views on that. This thing takes forever to...

Two black-tailed godwits foraging among small waders on a sandy beach . Strong sunlight and very white sand. I am still learning how to use my new camera and I very often have the feeling that somehow I don't get it quite right, maybe something wrong about my settings.
I was at Marshside in Southport for the afternoon looking at the black-tailed Godwits, it was a bright sunny day and there was plenty of godwits to choose from
