These passage migrant birds include Grey-tailed Tattlers, Wood Sandpipers, Yellow Wagtails and a Black-winged Stilt.

Black-winged Stilt

This immature bird didn't seem at all concerned by the car with me hanging out the window trying to get an angle for a shot, wish they were all like this one.

Red-wattled Lapwing, White-breasted Waterhen and a Black-winged Stilt share a space.

Here is another picture from my summer holidays in Sicily. I found a number of black-winged stilts living in a pond. This picture was taken in the late afternoon and the light hue was very warm.

I'm sorry, yet another Black-Winged Stilt photo. They're such photogenic birds, I can't help myself!

Initially spooked by a low-flying Fish Eagle these Stilts then began to squabble amongst one another!

This black-winged stilt kept passing over me shouting, I'm not sure why... Was it defending its territory from me - as a possible competitor - or was it trying to notify my presence to its flock?
