I am ever so fascinated by these black & white beauties flying together. They invariably take off enmass when they sense any danger, do a few circuits & land together once the coast is clear.
Hi all, SF is here again :).....thought this one could give you a laugh.....as the Spoonbill was preening these three kept going from side to side of it and it seemed to get a little bit annoyed! Hope you enjoy!
There were 23 of them at the drain water pool, my local birding patch, that day. They seemed comfortable with me around but took off suddenly when a herd of buffaloes appeared. Managed to capture 20(and half, lol) of them in flight.
Hi all, just sharing my sanctuary....there is always a lot to see at this locale and I'm able to take time out and enjoy for a short time, so I cram as many shots as I can get and then have the fun of picking out the best to keep when I get time......do hope you all enjoy too!
As I said, the B&W Brigade!!! The last one to come in to land was making the one in the middle a little bit nervous! I also had a Black Swan nearby as well as a Eurasian Coot in the background, so for a dull day had lots of fun! Thanks in advance for looking and apologies for not making many...
Here is another multi-species image, with Black-Winged Stilts, Cattle Egret, Sandpipers and Indian Pond Herons; from the drain water pool. Different species visit the pool and every time I visit it there are different combinations on view egging me to visit it again and again.
When Pete and I are on our way down to Williamstown we go along the coast road to see if there are any Pelicans around (Pete's fav subject)...we have to cross a small bridge over a drain and sometimes we're lucky enough to find Egrets but in this case, Stilts, both parents and bub in the middle...
