A rest day the following day; catching up on everything and getting stores replenished. We were all very tired after the mammoth trip the previous day.
The only bird I saw of note was this blackbird on the fence by the car park. I took this from our third (4th if you're in the States;)) floor...
The last of the species I saw up on the rock was this handsome Blackbird - he looked so perky, I couldn't not take his picture, could I.
There were some unidentified 'tweet' coming from the trees, but....
Next day was grey and drizzly. We started the day with an excursion to the Eden Project, before driving on towards Land's End. In spite of the grey, we were lucky with our weather timing. The rain held off as we walked the zig-zag trails towards the geodomes, and a few birds were out enjoying...
This lady wanted to get in on the act too at the feeding station.
It was quite dark under the trees (especially for a dark bird), but she got herself into a spot where the sun shone through - wasn't that nice of her!!
Another shot of this beautiful bird in the marsh plants at the Bird Viewing Preserve. This one can be seen in the Cattail bordering one of the ponds. Have not seen Cattail since I moved to Nevada. Use to see them all the time in the Midwest.
Taken at Greenhorn Park & Reservoir (Yreka, CA, USA) at less than 5m; he was a brave fellow.
Others local to where I live (San Leandro, CA, USA) swear that Brewer's should be the most common blackbirds around, but I can't recall ever seeing one; only Red-Winged Blackbirds.
