I've no idea if my net connection is sorted yet, but I'll soon find out when I start looking at other peoples pics|=)| (I think it's a new tactic by BT to get me to upgrade to fibre optic|=)|)
First time yesterday i seen one off these birds, so set out this morning hoping to get a shot, well i got about twenty, but none of the female, so its another first for me!

We've had some really rouogh weather here all week, torrential rain and gale force winds. It was dark, but dry for a while yesterday, so as I was suffering from cabin-fever, I had a walk up to our local small woods. Lots of birdsong going on, and a few Cappies testing their vocal...
I've found a favoured singing perch for these birds at the Reservoirs; I've walked past the spot for over 30 years, but only realised it was full of birds the other day|=)| It's just a small clump of trees and bushes, but it's full of small birds (Wrens, Blackcaps, Finches, Tits, etc).
Anyway...
Not the sharpest shot ever taken but the first Blackcap of the year for me as there's been a noticable influx in my area and Chiffchaffs seem to be everywhere in abundance.
Not quite enough light for this shot, but I don't catch these singing often. I hear them singing, or I hear them clicking from deep inside bushes, but I hardly ever actually find them.
From yesterday at the Reservoirs
Three males & two females where in Terry's garden when I visited last Friday, plenty of Redpoll's too. Once again many thanks to Terry & Rita, for looking after my friend & I, Rita served up a super meal & kept us going with plenty of cuppa's.
I'm not sure what blackcaps stand to gain from staying through the winter here, and I wonder whether they make a considered decision, weighing their choices and the risks involved. If this little one makes it through the winter, and if the winter was mild or she's been well fed, then I suppose...
