Late afternoon in a local state park, taking a break from hunting its supper.

There was a tree swallow perched on her roof and she had to chase him away.. Don't know why they all want the same nesting box.. we have another one.. that apparently is not considered prime real estate.

Since it s low backlit, it does not appear to be very blue. However, rust orange breast ID's it as a blue bird.

Caught this Eastern Bluebird as he launched away from me.

I did not even know blue birds nest in the winter. but is what they appear to be doing. The male blue bird just left and the female appears to be guarding the nest..

this little guy was looking for something to eat and found himself at the other end of my lens. this is a digiscoped photo.

Shot on the way to check on the progress of a Golden Eagles nest. Happy to report there are two young ready to flege. More later
