    ....I'd call this guy/gal a "Gray-headed Vireo" Never have I seen their head looking blue

    .....Why they are not called Gray-headed Vireos. I've seen them in all kinds of lighting and their head still looks gray.

    It seems that they've split this group into three species just to confuse me. It was much easier to know only the Solitary Vireo.

    I finially updated my bird guides with Sibley's Guide to Birds and the other on Bird Life and Behavior. My other field guides all called this a Solitary Vireo. I guess this kind of dates me.

    It's always nice to get a new lifer at home, and one that poses so well. It all came together that day, and 5 minutes later I got a another surprise that I will post another day.
