Well it wasn't really a field, it was a protected area with ancient cupmarked and standing stones at Slochavullin just outside Kilmartin.
The area is just full of such stones, so must have been a very important area in ancient times.
If you're interested in finding out more about all the...
..... to be going on with.
This was our first sighting of Bluebells that break. There was a few of them growing in the shade beside the car park.
Pretty, aren't they.
Bother... I meant to give you a link to the Beaver project at Knapdale in my last picture, so I'll do it now: http://www.scottishbeavers.org.uk/visit-knapdale/
I was asked if I hadn't seen any birds on this trip. Very few, and coniferous forests aren't the best of places to try. I did hear a...
We followed the Crinan Canal to the end at the little harbour village of Crinan. Such a love, if busy spot.
You can read more about the canal here... well worth it. http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/crinan/crinancanal/

A different area of the woodland from the previous picture.

What a lovely sight this was at the arboretum, such a shame she wasn't with us to see them.
OK I've bowed to pressure;)
This picture was taken in Taynish Forest Nature Reserve: http://www.birdforum.net/opus/Taynish_National_Nature_Reserve_and_surrounding_area, which is a lovely area with ancient forest and lochs. Now it's being used for a Beaver Re-introduction scheme. Where I took...
I just missed the bluebell season really, when I've been in the area before, there have been carpets of them (I'll try and dig out a photo from another year later on).
This picture was taken in the same place as the shells from the previous upload, and I really thought they were rather pretty.
