Sudden appearance while birding

My friend emailed me a game camera pic from her property (east of town). I ran it thru Photoshop to make it clear and thought it would make an interesting post.

I was out on the deck photographing birds for the Christmas Bird Count when two of these beauties showed up just outside my fence. I was surprised when they stayed calm while my two dogs were barking at them. Guess they're just like the local deer and knew the dogs couldn't get to them.

It is a rare and special treat when we see a bobcat in our backyard. It is even rarer to have the chance to photograph them.

Slowly crusing the shoreline of a remote area in Northern Cal, looking for Bald eagles I came up on a Bobcat drinking water at the lakes edge.

While out and about looking for Golden Eagles, this Bobcat ran across the road.
