Two reprocessed oldies and one new one today. Not berries the Waxwing is eating but tiny apples. There's another bird in the background. Hoping for sun tomorrow. We had some snow but most of it has melted.

3 new pictures today and I may be posting Waxwings for a whiile. Haven't seen any since last Saturday though. Doc (Anne) was wondering about Waxwings as all of hers have disppeared. I think all our rowanberries have been eaten too but the 3 trees where the Waxwings were have what seems to have...

The light was so poor on 22 December that I ended up using fill flash on the Waxwings. Today it was sunny but I didn't see a single Waxwing.

I had 2 days to photograph Waxwings a short walk away from home at the beginning of March. I discovered them on the way to the local shops and there were an awful lot of them. The second day was brighter than the first and I took a huge number of pictures. Off to Scotland to see my 96-year-old...

Had a great Easter week in the south of Sweden with a couple of days at Lake Tkern on the way back to Stockholm. Saw some great birds and took lots of pictures but there were some icy winds.

Back in Stockholm for a brief stopover before heading off to Helsingborg in the far south of Sweden tomorrow. My sister-in-law has wireless Internet so I might try posting some evenings. The trip to Landsort was a great success though I'm glad we took lots of warm clothes. We had 2 sunny days...

    Call this food?

When other berries are gone the Waxwings have to eat Rose hips.
  23. The prizefighter

    The prizefighter

This bird had a nasty gash over its beak. I think it must have flown into a branch. Waxwings live a hazardous life, eating fermented berries and getting drunk. The only one I saw at home this winter was dead with a broken neck under a window. The Waxwing seemed a bit dazed but it was managing...

    Rosehips

All that was left after the thrushes had eaten all of the rowan berries. Not their favourite food.

My wife promised that if we took our junk to the recycling centre we could look for Goldfinches at nearby rstafltet afterwards. We didn't find any Goldfinches but I discovered a small flock of Waxwings on the way back to the car. The light was rapidly fading but I took quite a few pictures...
