While watching the migration on April 6th at bird watching tower , north of Istanbul suddenly appeared almost at the same level where we were. I had an opprtunity to take some photos.
The first one of the year for me, trying to catch sandpipers (Common and Green) above the Ro Grande this morning. Nice to catch it's upper side in detail, showing the key id features of the wonderful eagle (light phase)

Yesterday we enjoyed a good raptor morning, and even though we didn't have the best light, there was some photography frenzy when booted and short-toed eagles were passing nearby. Czech was shooting in burst mode while Giles watched the raptor show in Tarifa.
This Booted Eagle was spotted soaring directly above the road only perhaps 100m outside the village of Dadia
The striking black and white contrast between wing coverts and primaries / secondaries in flight make this eagle a very handsome flyer.
