Another focus failure, but I like his eyes...

This male Bronzed Cowbird was going thru his amazing mating dance, cupping the winds, fluffing up his head, dancing and bouncing around on the limb. Fun to watch!!

This was a first time sighting for me. I found it at Eagle Lakes Park.

Terrible photo, but it documents my first and so far only Bronzed Cowbird (lifer #288), a male seen on a tour of the King Ranch in Kingsville, Texas.

Bronzed Cowbird (Molothrus aenus aenus) Three subspecies are recognized with two being mapped for Texas. South Texas birds belong to the nominate subspecies while birds of West Texas belong to subspecies loyei. Species sexually dimorphic. Photographed in a motel parking lot in Raymondville...

This was the only sighting of this bird. It had come to pester the newly fledged Hooded Oriole. I don't know what it was going to do but the parents weren't happy it was around. :t:
