I'm not too sure how I managed to eat my breakfast, as another new bird landed on the water tray. He had the most wonderful time diving in and splashing about, jumping out, diving back in again. But got him perched nicely for a second here. Very wet feathers still LOL A little Brown Thornbill...

John who owns this property has given me permission to invite any of you travelling to Adelaide to come and stay overnight with him. Let me know if you are interested and I'll give you his email address. He's working on improving the setup for photographers!!

Brown Thornbills don't sit still very long! A family group have been flitting about in my back yard, looking for food for their young ones, which have recently started to hunt for themselves.

This Brown Thornbill was quick off the mark and caught lunch easily.

Because of the few showers today my stay at Eynesbury was cut short but on the way home I said to Pete that I would like to check out another spot, Kingfisher had been sighted there! lol....I found several S/F Wrens darting around and then came across a Silvereye no time for a pic, then I saw...

Had a great time driving (and eating our way) from Melbourne to Canberra and back using the coastal route covering 3500 km in 2 weeks. This is a beautiful country and my only regret is that it took us this long to decide to undertake this road-trip. I finally got to see the Yellow-tailed...

It is not much possible to get a still shot of this bird. It is always jumping and flying and of course singing beautifully :)

It must be time I demonstrated to world + dog that I ain't dead yet - it seems to be 8 months since I last uploaded a bird into the gallery! So here is one from the other day, one of the many delightful small brown Australian birds that zip about the foliage making ID a nightmare for beginning...

this little guy was feeding furiously through the trees today and I followed him for half an hour before he stopped for 3 secs for this photo.

this little guy kept coming back to the same branch just in focus range of my scope (18ft) and checking me out.

I managed to catch this little guy as he rested from his feeding for about 10 secs.
