Such a lovely day, there were bound to be some good thermals for the Buzzards and sure enough one floated out for me.
Pretty high, but fairly pleased with this picture.
Obviously the Buzzard got miffed that we turned our attention from him to the view and took to the air.
We did manage to find him though.... a distant fleck against the pure white cloud!
Just a little bit along the road, we stopped to investigate a lump in a tree.
It wasn't very close, so pictures not that great, but it was clearly a Buzzard.
Our first raptor of the trip.
As good a shot as I could manage before the poor buzzard had enough of being dive-bombed.
I see the buzzard daily around the area, but the rest of the big birds of prey are across a narrow valley from me and do not cross to my side.
It is simply not worth the hassle to them as the other smaller...
This poor buzzard is hated by all the bird community. He is sitting there quite peacefully in the heat we are having. (Always got his eye on a meal of course!!).
You will see he is being attacked by a Barn Swallow as he is in the seclusion area of the Barn Swallows nest.
It got to the stage...
Was driving by a reserve and in a field close by I spotted a brown shape and stopped the car out I got and knowing buzzards I crept up behind a bank and took this shot! if the buzzard saw me I would'nt be typing this hehhee
