Hi all, these guys were on the river Ax as the tide was going out. My sister wanted me to go out so that she could show me around before jet-lag set in as had only arrived in UK that morning! To get a 'lifer' was wonderful and there were about twenty of them, only time I saw them!
I went to City Park. The day began with bright sunshine, way too much heat, and loads of birds, familiar birds. It took a while before I found any lifers, but there were plenty of birds to keep me happy |=)|
Just a view of one of the fishing spots at Spring Lake. Some kids were catching fish just to the left outside the frame of this shot. The birds, being park dwellers and used to lots of people around, didn't seem the least bit worried about kids with fishing rods just 10 meters away.
You'd think, given their name, that they'd be all over the place around here. In fact I rarely see them. A person that lives near this tiny pond tells me that a group of these geese will rest here in the spring as they migrate north, then again in the fall on their way south. Other than that...
