Saw this Siskin and Blashford Lakes in the woodland hide.

I'm struggling with my new lens, mainly because I've been unable to take it out for the last 6 weeks due to poor watcher/work. Managed yesterday, but the high winds added another factor I'd not considered to a lens this size. Still, pretty happy with this shot.

It's a fairly big crop, but I'm still pleased with the detail captured in this dinky bird from about 40 feet away. I saw it at Blashford Lakes.

Proof that magpies can look quite beautiful when the sun catches them just so.

This little fella was jumping around for quite a while until he got bored and flew off.

Went to Portland Bill on the Bank Holiday Monday and saw this rather impressive Jackdaw.

I love how tiny and well-formed Wrens are, but it makes them tricky to photograph :(

This little fellow was chasing off competitors and belting out a lovely song.

It took ages, but I finally got a shot of a heron catching his tea :)

Spotted this Little Egret after it got flushed by a dog. Popped up right in front of me.

I love Tufted Ducks, especially when the sun hits them just right.

There's debate on whether this Hooded Merganser at Radipole Lake in Weymouth is an escapee or a genuine migrant. All I know is that it looks gorgeous.

This was taking a little while ago at Poole Park. It was busy feeding at low tide and didn't notice me hiding in the bushes :)

This little fellow was keeping a wary eye on the children playing football near him. He eventually flew off when their ball got a little too close for comfort.

I saw this female Pheasant as I was watching waders at Hengistbury Head.

Took this one at a feeding station in the Lake District, I just love the way the colours compliment each other!

Took this shot at Seaforth train station car park, one of about 80 birds a few weeks ago.

Patience paid off today, I beached my kayak on a shallow sand bar in the middle of a large lake, pointed directly in front of a Osprey perched on a branch of a dead tree. I waited 45 minutes for him to take flight, allowing me to get several awesome in flight shots.

My camera's been out of commission for 5 weeks or so (don't drop your camera, it's expensive!) and just got out a bit this afternoon after a rain. This House Finch was about the only critter reasonably cooperative.
