This guy was traveling with Blackpoll Warblers and they were all feeding in a pear tree in my back yard. Although they are more common in my yard than the Blackpoll, this is the first sighting for me this year.
Pretty rare in my neighborhood, but I shot these while they were visiting a pear tree in my back yard. My first sighting of the Blackpoll. They were traveling with some Cape May Warblers. I got some good shots of those and will post later.
We don't see to many of these little Warblers in the yard so we were shocked to see this guy hanging onto the Hummingbird feeder a few months back. I always have my camera, so was able to snap a few before he flew back to Cape May. LOL
An uncommon visitor to NH during the summer, it was even more uncommon in winter. This bird wintered feeding on flies in the wrack line along the shore at Odiorne Point State Park and stayed well into the spring setting all kinds of bird records including most photographed.
I took a nice birding trip to southern Florida with Seattle Audubon for a week and this little beauty was definitely one of the highlights. This was a lifer for me so being so close to this bird was all the more exciting!
The last two weekends have been great for warblers.I have seen more Warblers than I did in the spring. This was a nice suprise as many of the birds I have been able to shoot. Fall warbler numbers have been great with a good selection
Almost (but not quite) unprecedented on a Nova Scotia Xmas Count, this hardy Cape May has been hanging around an area in Kentville for at least 2- 3 weeks despite snow, rain and wind. They're actually pretty scarce these daysa in Summer, because of logging, and spraying for Spruce Budworm.
