The Crows at the Reservoirs almost behave like Waders, they are often at the water's edge and even paddle. I noticed this one pick up some shells and fly a short distance, so I followed it and got a picture. I'm not sure what it's eating (it ate them just after I took this picture) but they look...
Just a poser on the fence. I had problems focusing on this bird, I think it was a combination of the light, and the zoom that the TC gave me (1127mm, pushing my luck hand-held).
Still one of my favourite haunts. The car park by a boating lake.
Someone had put down lots of bread for the birds.
The Gulls made some dives for it an Magpies mad the odd quick dash.
But the wary Crows kept their distance and waited for me to go away.
I caught this just as it was shaking itself on the fence. The lighting on the bird isn't great, and it's at ISO 800, but I thought I'd upload because of how odd this Crow looks. Through the window as usual.
After my disappointment with the new Camera yesterday (very poor light) I had another crack today in better light and was quite pleased with the results.
I finally finished checking through the pictures I took at the Reservoirs the other day (500+) and found another one of the Crow. I doubt that one will let me get this close again, so I thought I'd make the most of it and upload another picture.
One of the Crows like to take two nuts in shells from the garden, and get the nuts out on the wall. I've got a couple of pictures of her doing this, but only one left of my upload limit; so I've uploaded this one.
I was absolutely thrilled when I saw this image I had grabbed. I thought and thought for ages about a caption, there were so many possibilities. No doubt viewers can come up with their's. I was tempted if there had been a forum to have put a picture with a thought bubble on it and invited...
Only Corvids again today. The other birds are in the garden as well, but they won't land where it's light enough to get a reasonable picture. Through the window as usual, oh, and I only just got his feet in the shot.
I've uploaded this one as it shows more of the feather pattern than yesterdays picture. Through the window, and still only 1/40th second shutter due to the light.
One of the regular Crows spent about 10 minutes preening on my garden fence. I did a double take when I looked at this picture on the computer. (taken through the window as usual)
