From behaviour, this is Charlie - I thought s/he was away nesting, as I'd not seen him/her for ages. The favoured tree that had a Crows' nest for years was pruned back hard, so another place less for nesting. Anyway, could still be nesting locally.
Through the double glazing - which I've...
Another right over the top of my head image on that walk up The Knockie.... oh my poor neck!!
... and I still hadn't remembered to change from Landscape mode!!
Carrion crow life study from today morning, Gouache colours. It was a very challenging model, and wasn`t easy to capture the reflections , and iridescence of the black plumage.
It's not that often I manage to get pictures of these crows, they seem to be able to see me move right from the back of my sitting room!! They don't often come double-handed either!
I missed these two on the shed roof, but managed to get them both together on the neighbour's house.

.... or Double-act
When I first saw the thumbnail downloaded, I thought what the heck is that!!!?
I wasn't till I opened it and blew it up that I could see that there were two crows sitting together, making a most unusual outline.
I've only cropped a very little off this one, so you can...
This Carrion Crow sat for a few minutes preening, so continuous mode allowed me to get several poses (one of which is set for an upcoming SF entry LOL)
I've had to lighten the image somewhat to get some detail underneath, but not too pleased with the result, just doesn't look that natural...
Back home... having made a mess of the swans... whites all blown!
Now for trying black birds against the sky. A bit distant this one, so quite a big crop. Well he was making such a noise I had to get his picture, didn't I!!;)
I'm not too sure if I'd have got a better result with AP at the...
.... no, I didn't cut his feet off, he was standing in a gutter!!
I don't know where it came from, but he found some big lumps of bread or something in there, he then carried it off up onto the roof.
This one has quite a lot of white feathers, but a few weeks ago I saw one with even more, down...
A bit of a long read, but worth it if bird behaviour interests you.
I uploaded a pic of a nervous juvenile Crow earlier in the year (he landed clumsily in a bush), and he continues to visit with his parents. He's still really nervous, and spooks at just a glimpse of me at the window.
As you'll...
.... or Not that programme again! Where's the remote?
I usually struggle to get pictures against the sky, but thought the composition of these two guys would suit the SF theme.

It's very rare for them to sit on that fence, and I was amazed that I managed to get some pictures of him without him being spooked!!
This guy has quite a lot of white feathers, only some of which you can see here. Don't know if it's the same bird (think possibly not) but when I was down at the...
Back to the garden after all the excitement with the raptors.
It's not often that a Carrion Crow sits in that tree, and even rarer for one to hang around long enough for me to take a picture of one.
Got loads of pictures, but like this pose.
