Busy moving files from one computer to another at the moment, so heres an oldie from back in February this year. hope its not a repeat.!
Have a great weekend everyone, and thank you for all your comments.
I chased this guy for a couple of days trying to get a picture. Such a coward he is... the least movement, even from the back of my sitting room and he was off.
He'd got quite a few white feathers, so I did want to record him.
TTTW
That's what this crow seemed to be doing on a grey and drizzly day in Cardiff. Still dreaming today, me. But now it seems our dreams may be about to come true. We're told we can expect warm, sunny weather starting next week - at last!
As some will know, one of the regular Crows and her mate (the one that washes his food before eating it) show up most days, and they usually introduce their young to my garden each year. (I called her Charlie, as it works for both sexes... I could be wrong, and it's a male ;) )
The local...
I'm putting the trash back in! Honest!
Almost Saturday now, so here are my two fun shots for this week: a couple images of a bin-diving carrion crow in Cardiff. (Somebody really should invent bird-proof bins that are still so easy to use that people will actually use them. Between us, we humans...
This little fella wasn't impervious to the rain either. His expression pretty much summed up the weather ;) Not unlike the weather here at the moment.
Sorry to be posting a few minutes early. Have chipped a tooth and need to get in to town and consult a dentist to see if it needs repairing now...
Not sure whether this is a Carrion Crow or a juv Rook ...? Looked quite handsome, though, on the peak of a campus roof at Aberystwyth, I think this was part of the Arts Centre. I'll go with Carrion Crow for now, based on the "hooked" end of the upper mandible.
From behaviour (he's nervous of me, turns up with Charlie, and always washes his nuts (Don't say it, Mali!!! ;) )) this is Charlie's mate; I'd imagine that she's in the nest, as it's only him showing up lately. One of the Feral Cats was on the wire fence in a neighbour's garden, and there was a...
At least I think so (maybe they're both male) LOL.
These two were chasing each other round the chimney pot for a while, until they stopped, looked at each other, then the one on the right flew off.
Great fun watching them, frustrating trying to get a clear image of them both though!!

The beginning of February and the Crows started to become very vocal... and I mean quite noisy LOL.
I just caught this one mid-caw, with his throat hackles expanded.
TTTW on rather a dull day (did we have anything else LOL)
PS so I've got two Robins then, "two legs" made an...
A reasonable day in early January and I decided to walk the streets round the back of where I live (the start of a fitness regime.... yeah right LOL).
I spotted this crow in one of the trees... isn't it amazing what the light does at certain angles! You could almost be fooled into thinking this...
as i said the other corvids are not visiting in the same numbers just now but these guys are staying local.there are 3 pairs i notice displaying and dive bombing each other and i call them the sentinels because they sit atop our chimneys watching everything but i know there are three nests...
Lighting was on my side to get some feather detail of these beautiful but completely black birds. It must have trusted me as well as it came closer and closer toward me.
