Note the sizes. I used to think Black-headed Gulls were quite small, and at first I thought Squacco Herons were sort of medium large. But look how small this Squacco is, even compared to the BHGs :eek!:

I found this bird in Herastrau Park, Bucharest, Romania, on February 21st/22nd 2012. It was ringed as pullus (on June 10th 2010) in Ukraine, at 716 kilometers from Bucharest.
I've named this bird "Jamie's gull", because we spotted it for the first time on February 19th during scottishdude's visit in Romania. Since that day, I've spotted this bird (a 4cy-5cy individual) several times, in the same area from Herastrau park.
