I tend to thinks of Cedar Waxwings as being slimmer than this.

Cedar waxwing takes to flight. They were feeding on the blossoms of this tree.

Well I've been so very busy with work and the gardens lately and haven't been able to keep up here. I've finally found a few minutes to pop in and thought I'd share this pic from a couple months ago. I had a memorable day with a lovely, large flock of these gorgeous birds. They are such beauties.

Although Cedar Waxwings pass through Orono Bog, as the caption on the photo indicates, this photo was actually taken near my house in a rural area. The bird was a member of a small flock that alighted on a planted Norway spruce tree.

These guys like the wild fruit bushes and trees along the river's edge. Found a flock of them feeding while I was out looking for Great Egrets.

Not sure what kind of berries these were but the Cedar Waxwing was loving them.
