Starting to see a lot of these but unfortunately many times high in the trees. This one was more accomodating to come a bit lower. They nest in our area so should be seeing them often now.

Cedar Waxwings are visitors in our yard during the winter because of the berries. They are fun to watch, they clean out the tree in 2 days, and then go elsewhere in the area.

I have been wanting to photo one of these for a long time. Went to my daughters last week and there was a flock of them around. Could not get in the best place for the lighing and the batteries in the flash died, but I am happy with my first Waxwing.

Hi Folks Not a great photo, but just a sample of the 50 waxwings we counted on our Arizona Ash on December 28th, 2009 the official bird count day for the Tucson AZ group. Was a very dull cloudy day, and naturally, the next day was brilliant sunshine, but no birds. Best wishes for 2010 Uncle...

Came across a bunch of these guys eating bugs out over the river today. They would fly out from trees near the river's edge and then return to the trees.

Have seen a bunch of these several times on a local bike path, but, they are usually out flying from stump to stump in a swampy area off the side of the path catching insects and are usually a bit too far for a good photo. This one was right off the side of the path feeding on some berries.
