My last but one warbler! Tomorrow we're off to Lady Elliott Island in the Great Barrier Reef for a few days.

Chestnut-sided Warbler (Setophaga pensylvanica) First winter female. Canopy Lodge, El Valle de Antn, Cocl Province, Panam. Tropical rainforest/cloud forest becoming a more broadleaf evergreen forest with fewer deciduous trees at ca. 596 m (1,955 ft) elevation adjacent to Ro Guayabo.

Have I shared this one before? Apologies if so. Earlier that day we saw one actually still showing chestnut-sided breeding plumage. This one, more typically for the migration there, was a juvenile.

Another shot of Chestnut-sided from up at Lake Desolation in lower Adirondacks.

Found this little gem on our outing yesterday with local bird club members. We also found fresh moose tracks in the mud on the trail where we saw this fellow. Did not see moose.

I was about to call it a day when this lifer landed in a tree about 30 meters from me. Managed to get the camera out of the car and got off one handheld shot before it flew off.

A lot of my warbler shots are not from the garden but in the adjacent forest.

Love having these guys on my property this year.

The books say that this warbler is closely related to the Yellow Warbler, but obviously not in color.

Her English isn't so good, but she is "pleased, pleased, pleased to meetcha"--at least that is what her song says (actually I think her song is different from the male).
