I got lucky, the white background was from a white building in the background. I had to take a step to the left to omit a window. This is one of my favorite shots.
This Chickadee decided to visit the Bluebird house....short trip as he was unwelcome. Thought I was going to catch some action but he made a hasty retreat.
Spotted this guy chiseling away at this cavity. The female would come, go inspect...and I guess
give orders how she wanted it done,then leave. He would get to work until she was satisfied with cavity size. Here he is cleaning up the shavings before moma comes back saying arent you done...
The result of hours of trying to catch a chickadee in flight as it came and went from the birdfeeder. Taken from about 10 feet with a 70-200 lens to provide soft background.
These are so quick I decided to try using multipul flash to see what happens......heck it worked with Hummingbirds. This was taken in the shade using three flashes, I was pleased for an experiment. Have a few more for later.
I took some pictures this afternoon, the chickadees were cooperative, and the angle of the light finally allowed me to get their eyes distinct from the black around them.
