Chukar in Haleakala National Park, Maui. James Brennan Molokai Hawaii
This fellow was spotted in Haleakala National Park on Maui at about 8000 feet elevation. Chukars are part of the pheasant family, which are plentiful on Maui, but Chukars are not seen that often. He seemed quite willing to pose for the camera.- James Brennan Molokai HI

Walking, begging Chukar Partridge
In Capitol Reef National Park near Torrey, Utah, I was surprised to see adult Chukar partridges running toward slow-moving cars, teaching their progeny how to beg from the passing tourists. This is my first gallery photo in quite a while! This adult Chukar was teaching its young how to beg from tourists in autos along the Capitol Gorge in Capitol Reef National Park in Utah.
