Taken yesterday on the garden feeder (the update on Karin is she has had a good couple of nights sleep and is well enough to go out so I took her to town and did just a little shopping which she enjoyed our next up date will be after her trip back to hospital to see if they release her )
The last week in January the snow was nearly all gone and the last couple of days with my old car <sob, sob> ; it'd really served me well for 12 years!
Anyway, back to birds and I had a pretty good view of this pretty dove in a neighbouring garden. There'd briefly been two of them, but I...
been trying my different settings in different lights.this was from my bedroom window a cloudy scotland quite normal here.this dove flew on to the telegraph wire then into next doors garden before it returned to mine.becoming quite a regular now in my garden which is really nice coz i love these...
I've only just remembered that I had an upload left, so I've picked this one that I took this afternoon. The Colly wasn't quite in the right place, but I guess it's a bit different.
Through the window as usual.
No Sparrowhawk pics I'm afraid, but I did see two Raptor-like birds that I've never...
Still got pics to upload from the Reservoirs, but I don't like them ATM|=)|. I'm having one of those days, when I don't like the pictures as much as I did when I resized them to upload. Anyway, I'll probably like them again later.
For now; here's a Collard Dove from Sunday ;Through the window...
I don't usually upload a pic this late, as it's nearly tomorrow|=)|, but I caught this on the wall about an hour ago, so I'm uploading it now.
Through the window as usual.
I just realised that I'd only uploaded 2 pictures today, so for a change, here's a Colly that I meant to upload months ago.
Through the window as usual, and awkward lighting.
Yo might have to look closely to get why I chose that caption. Of course, thanks to rather strong Painkillers, I might be the only one amused by it.|=)|
Through the window as usual.
A pair of Collys with different ideas about what to do next. One was quite happy resting on the wall, the other wasn't.|=)|
Through the window as usual.
I'll be back in a while, a quite small juvenile Sparrowhawk just failed to get anything. He (size alone makes me think male) ended up sitting...
Blown the highlights a bit on the bird (even though it's a bit underexposed), and it moved as I released the shutter (1/80th second), but it's another that I like the pose of.
Through the window as usual. (I bet you never guessed that last sentence was coming |=)|)
The story so far:
I wanted to get food to the Chaffinches, Robins, and Dunnock, so I made a little seed feeder and put it up on the fence at the back of my garden. I put it amongst the thorns of the Blackberry Bush so it was a bit safe from predators, and also so the larger birds couldn't get...
Not as detailed as I'd like, but I like the eye and the light. Through the window as usual.
(I'm posting and running, as my Wife found an Oriental Cockroach in the porch; so I'm on a hunting expedition ATM. It's funny, my Wife's scream is so much louder than I remembered from last time when she...
Even worse this time, only 1/40th second shutter speed. This was how the female reacted to the male's unsolicited (and rather sneaky) advances. Notice her wings are arched, stopping the male from succeeding. I'm pretty sure that the female rejected the male because he never bowed and cooed...
