This male Comma protecting his territory against other male Comma,s is very photogenic so has given me the opportunity to obtain some nice pictures of this butterflie.

The bright auturm sunshine in this picture highlights the Comma,s colours in full.

Those summer days seem so long gone now.

Resting in tyhe warm sunshine.

Perched in an awkward position( for me!) against the sunlight.

A couple of these were flying around the garden today. This one settled on the birdbath for a breather!

I took many shots of this Comma butterfly because there was a sea-breeze ( pleasant on a warm afternoon) which made the butterfly sway on the twigs and leaves where it was perched.I didn't want a blurred shot.

First butterfly pic of 2014. Also Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell seen in the last two days. Amazing what a drop of sunshine and a rise in the temperature can do! Will catch up with you all later in the day - too nice to stay indoors.
