This Moorhen had been preening, after which s/he maintained her/his stretch pose much longer than usual (at least in my experience). Morning yoga including a long salute-to-the-sun position?

There were a handful of grebes among all the coots and ducks and swans - Great Cresteds and at least one Little - but they were not very cooperative. This Moorhen, however, posed nicely.

Common Moorhen.

This image was taken in Vondelpark in Amsterdam. it's interesting that they are very friendly and are not afraid of people at all and allow to approach them. One of them took a slice of bread from my hand, great to see this

It's always nice to see these guys swimming across the water especially when they're within reach of my lens LOL. Had to lighten this one quite a bit, but at last got to see where the eye is;) Seems I need to do some work on understanding the settings in bright sun, but not sure when I'll get...

The turtles appear to be a Red-bllied Turtle and a River Cooter, but then appearances aren't everything.
