I photographed this bird from a small boat at 9 PM using flash. The bird's distance required the use of a Better Beamer to extend the reach of the flash. The bird was typically positioned at the top of a dead tree in a forest gap, ready to sally forth after prey.

Quite an interesting bird. This is the first time I have seen one. The Potoo is a night bird and this fellow stayed put trying to sleep all day long and flew away at dusk.
