I walked all the way to the next bay - Rotvollbukta. There I saw this tern cruising by, then I turned back and walked the south side of Leangenbukta. Managed 4 km and saw 8 more species before the tide brought the waders in closer to shore. Patience, patience. In between fair and barely fair...
Two Terns fighting over a sandeel. They fought over it for around sixty seconds but both lost out in the end and another Tern stole it from the exhausted winner of this battle.
The terns at Doffcocker yesterday were simply awesome. The weather even more so. I have the sunburn to prove it. Decided to go paddling in the lake to get myself closer to the terns as they skinned the water. They didnt seem to mind in the least.
I love you! Actually no he didnt, because at the last moment the male took back the fish and ate it himself! the female was not happy!
Four pairs have now returned and as usual I am never very far away.
