    Coot with two young

From Monday at the Reservoirs. Harsh light, and they were swimming away from me, but it's the first Coot chicks that I've seen this year. I suppose that the colour of the reflections in the water make it worth uploading.

  18. Up periscope.....

    Up periscope.....

It must be such an effort for them to stay underwater as it's almost comical the way they come floating back to the surface.
  19. Ready to attack

    Ready to attack

The coots are hyperactive at the moment attacking each other whenever they come into range. This one has its head down low ready for action. I find snapping these are a good exposure challenge.
