    Hello From Old Kilpatrick

Hi 👋 I am incorporating birdwatching into my daily walks so as to add some distraction to the many steps i am taking, I am very lucky to have a variety of places to walk locally, Hills, Canalside and even a natural marsh, so i see lots of variety. I have two queries if anyone has any ideas why...

    Three eager chicks

Told you I had a better one of the coot chicks. In spite of the stick in the front. In spite of the yucky-looking water and consequent doubts about what exactly she's feeding them. Those eager chick faces make the pic. ;)

Today's theme is distance and disappointment. Yes, I like to take a birding break on Vest-Amager any time I have a layover between flights through Copenhagen, but it's also frustrating. I don't digiscope. I don't even own a scope. The ponds along the shore where there are masses of birds are...

Coots - I bit the bullet today and went to the Somerset Levels even though it's a mile from the C/P to the hide and I didn't know how I would get on carrying all my gear. OK I guess. It was coots day when I got there. This is a small sample, as small as my lens would go @ 300mm. There were...

Again pretty distant and a big crop, but it's not often I see so many Coots together. Although Kinnordy and Lintrathen are only a few miles apart, Lintrathen is rather deeper (well usually LOL) and, being a reservoir, doesn't have the bog bean islands and surrounding markshes. Also it is used...
